At a hummingbird feeding station, we will closely observe and learn to identify up to four species of hummingbirds: Black-chinned, Rufous, Calliope, and Anna's. Identification components will include structure, size, shape, and sounds for both males and females of each species. We will observe and learn to recognize courtship and territorial defense behavior. Loaner binoculars will be available. Carpooling to the site is encouraged. At the outdoor site, we will be seated under shade with access to restrooms (no hiking required).
